In the Aedes East Pavilion, AedesBerlin presents four designs by oehringlux which embody the symbiosis of sculptural form with articles of utility. In their primary positions, these objects resemble Minimalist sculptures. Unfolded, they are transformed into complex structures governed by a variety of dynamics. When interacting with the cubature of the pavilion, they generate absorbing spatial effects. The members of the duo oehringlux, consisting of architect/sculptor/designer Elisabeth Lux and sculptor/designer Frank Oehring, have collaborated for more than ten years, presenting numerous art and design projects in public contexts. Featured in this exhibition on the basis of design studies and prototypes will be table objects (produced in cooperation with e15 Design und Distributions) and a series of luminaires like the new ’zac’ table lamp produced by ANTA.
